Let’s do each other a favor, shall we?

Let’s just take off the “experienced, knowledgeable, powerful, better-than-you” mask that we all want to wear by default.  Nobody’s really buying it (unless you are a guru with a rabid pack of newbies behind you), so let’s conserve our time and energy and just be human.

Let’s admit that we don’t have it all figured out yet…whether we are talking about real estate or about life.

I do business with people that I know, like and trust.  I do business with people that I can sit down and have a beer and a laugh with.  If you insist on taking yourself too seriously to even crack a smile or reveal a chink in your “armor”, then just move along.  I can’t stomach that game any longer.

I choose authenticity.  I choose humanity.  I choose laughter.  I choose friendship.  I choose connection.  I choose trust.

Sure, some of you probably think that I’ve completely lost it and gone off the deep end to post something like this on my real estate site.  I understand….now move along.  If being human and making connections is nowhere on your radar screen, then I guarantee you we have nothing to talk about and will not be doing any business.

Our real estate world is shrinking as many fall by the wayside.  We’re not better than them because we are still here, but we are blessed to still be here.  And it’s time we connect with each other and tap into the power that comes from joining together, working together, discussing our common experience and learning from that experience.

I’m just sayin’.
